Family Support
Arcus has provided ongoing support to clients' families for over twenty years. Family meetings are held regularly and facilitated by a nurse coordinator. Parents at these meetings offer emotional support and encouragement to other families in attendance, and in return receive the same.
The Family Support program was utilized and proved to be especially helpful during the initial stages of the decentralization of service delivery.
Intensive Adult Care Response
In special situations where short term one to one individualized care is necessary for clients with challenging behaviors or medical acuity, Arcus has been able to provide the additional staff and resources required to address these needs.
All Arcus caregivers, Residential and Day Program, have the same training and are therefor able to fill in wherever needed. If a client is in hospital and needs additional support, a caregiver can be utilized at the hospital. Arcus is able to mobilize quickly to respond to changing client/family needs.
In-school Support
Arcus provides in-school nursing care and support for children requiring constant nursing attention.
Emergency Services
Arcus provides emergency temporary residential services to the Ministry for clients requiring live-in and relief support staff. Our ability to respond quickly allows us to meet interim needs until other more viable options become available.
Arcus is earthquake ready, with disaster plans already tested.
Networked Family Care
Arcus has traditionally provided support to the families of children in care. The support has included staff in-home, IACR response, training for families and linking with consultants. Arcus believes that the transition to an adult model should be smooth and successful.
Semi-Independent Living
Arcus provides semi-independent living and support services that allow for learning of daily living skills and gaining as much independence as possible.
